Below are the three assignments used at the 2014 U of M WSP. The first two assignments were largely based on those used at the 2014 Yale WSP although we chose to have the rhetorical analysis assignment draw from the students’ Thucydides reading. The third assignment was created to allow the students to practice putting their readings in conversation with one another while simultaneously using the arguments of the authors they are reading to support their own, unique claims.
The final document on this page is a list of the reading homework that was assigned to our students for the writing class. This reading was added to the considerable list they read for their morning lecture and reading workshops.
